Character illustrations

An editorial and illustration series celebrating long-distance cycling routes through Europe. Nora Studio crafted visuals that capture landscapes, endurance and the joy of adventure , a balance of clean design and storytelling.

The magazine was the heart of the project, a 160-page bilingual publication that documents the stories, routes and spirit of the bikepacking events.

To differentiate the bilingual content, I used a combination of typographic hierarchy, subtle colour cues and careful spacing. This way, readers could intuitively recognise which language they were reading, while the overall layout still felt unified.

I started by designing a grid system that would guide every spread, creating structure and consistency across such a large publication. The grid allowed me to balance text, photography and maps in a way that kept each page dynamic but coherent. It also made it easier to manage the two languages side by side, ensuring both were clearly visible and easy to follow, without one overpowering the other.

The result is a publication that feels both adventurous and editorially refined. It reflects the spirit of the events while functioning as a lasting piece of design documentation.

Together, these characters and motifs form a visual storytelling layer that connects participants to each destination in a light-hearted but meaningful way. They make the merchandise not just an event souvenir, but a keepsake full of cultural hints and personal memories of the journey.

The Bike Adventure Series brings together editorial design, illustration and storytelling to capture the spirit of exploration. Through careful attention to layout, cultural details and playful characters, the project transforms each event into a cohesive visual identity, one that feels both adventurous and personal.
